Boy Scout Leader Training

BOY SCOUT LEADER SPECIFIC
AND OUTDOOR SKILLS TRAINING

  • A two-part course designed for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters
  • Part one, Boy Scout Leader Specific, concentrates on troop operation and is completed in one full day or three evening sessions.
  • Part two, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, is completed in a full weekend.
  • The leader is considered trained upon completion of This is Scouting, Leader Specific and Outdoor Skills Training.
  • You may attend any course that meets your schedule.

Please Note:  This is Scouting has replaced New Leader Essentials training and is a pre-requisite for all Specific courses. 

It is essential that all new leaders take this course.   This course is online and available to you now at the BSA Online Learning Center 

located at www.scouting.org.  You will need to log in and create a MyScouting account to take this course as well as Youth Protection, Hazardous Weather, etc.  You can create an account and take the training even if you do not have your BSA ID number.
