Cluster Course: Wood Badge Course NE VII-17 is a cluster course sponsored by both Northern New Jersey Council, B.S.A. and Patriots’ Path Council, B.S.A. However, the course is open to Scouters from any Council.

Purpose: Wood Badge is advanced training for ALL adult Scout leaders - Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity and Venturing – at all levels of Scouting -- pack, troop, team and crew, district and council volunteers as well as our professional Scouters. It provides a common foundation for all BSA programs, including the most modern leadership and team-building practices into Scouting’s overall vision. While the skills learned are applicable to any organization, it focuses on practical ways to bring the Scouting Mission to life in units, districts, and councils. While not an outdoor skills course, it uses the methods of scouting including patrols and the outdoor experience. This is a “must take” course for Scouters at all experience levels.

When is the Course? Two weekends – September 12-13-14, 2009 AND October10-11-12, 2009 - each weekend starting at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and ending around 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

What is the cost? The cost is only $275.00 to be paid as follows: $75.00 non-refundable deposit with application; $100.00 by May 1, 2009 and the balance of $100.00 by July 15, 2009. You may pay the full amount at any time. (Campership funds will be available – contact the Course Director for details.)

What will I get out of it? You will develop better leadership skills, gain knowledge, have a great experience, enjoy Scouting fellowship and have lots of FUN bringing the best program you can to our youth.

Prerequisite Training: Fast Start, New Leader Essentials and Position Specific Training for your particular position in Scouting.
