The UNIVERSITY OF SCOUTING is a day-long event for ALL Scout leaders for supplemental training and idea sharing. It does not replace Fast Start, New Leader Essentials or position-specific Training; it adds to that training with additional practical information. There are sessions for Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders, Cubmasters, Pack Committee Members, Scoutmasters, PLC members, Troop Committee Members, and Crew Advisors and Committee. All assistants to those positions are welcome, too. Commissioners, come along and bring your unit leaders. Improve your skills, and learn some new ones! Over 100 volunteers give their time to make this training event worthwhile for you!

Pick the sessions that will help you the most!

All students will receive either a Cub Scout or Boy Scout patch. First-time students will receive a circular center patch and a BACHELOR chevron to go around it. Second-year students get their MASTER chevron, and third-year get a Ph.D. to complete the circle. 4th-year and beyond get a POST-DOC or RESEARCH FELLOW chevron. Staffers get the FACULTY chevron! There are valuable sessions here for even the most experienced Leader.

To register, complete a separate registration for every person attending (feel free to copy it). Each registration must include the schedule sheet, indicating the sessions you want to attend, and when (some are given more than once). We will try to meet your needs, but session sizes are limited, and some popular sessions fill up fast, so get your registration in early! There is no at-the-door registration. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER!
Sorry, because of the number of participants, we can't confirm your registration. Please keep a copy of your form.

Registration fee is $15 per person if received by October 5, and $25 after October 5.
Units which qualified for their Platinum FOS card receive a discount of 20%. $2-off "early bird" discount coupons, available at PPC Scout shops, are valid only until 9/15. Only one discount per registration.

All registrations must be received by Friday, October 19 (8 days before the event)!

You can pre-order a lunch for $6 which will include a ham or turkey sub sandwich, cookies, fruit and chips. If you prefer, bring a bag lunch. There will be soda free for everyone, even if you don't buy a lunch. There are free donuts in the morning, and coffee and tea are free all day.

Parking is limited, so try to form car pools with others from your unit or town.

Child care for boys and girls up to kindergarten age will be provided by the Camp Fire Girls. Please do not bring older boys and girls. PLEASE no children in the classrooms!

Certificate courses (Youth Protection, Risk Zone Training, Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat, and Climb On Safely) are offered at the University of Scouting but are also offered throughout the year at various locations at lower cost. You can find the various schedules here
